Dress Art

I recently finished painting this plaster dress for the American Heart Association’s "Go Red For Women Luncheon"  and fundraiser to be held in February. It was an odd shape but I just did my thing and it worked out okay, it’s Izzy chasing Alice or is it Alice Chasing Izzy? It’s like a Weeble, it wobbles, but it won’t fall down — there is even some kind of liquid inside.

Bona Fide Chair

BonafidechairMy donation for the Celebrity Chair Auction to be held on November 30th is complete. I call it "Bona Fide" Chair. I really enjoy the challenge of painting something 3d – although every time I do that bone design, I think I must be crazy as it’s a very tedious job. This benefit raises money for many Chicago Groups, among them the Chicago Abused Women Coalition. Here’s a preview of some of the other completed chair art.

Illustration Friday – Strength

Strength_2The Illustration Friday topic for this week is Strength – I pulled this from my November 7th sketch book entry and digitally colored it …

Welcome….

100_6454_5I’m finally getting around to blog-land – I’ve been meaning to do this for months now and decided it was time to share the everyday adventures along with my art…

We took an amazing trip to New York in October…one of the neastest things we did was walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and surprise my old art fair pal from college who was having an open studio during the  D.U.M.B.O. Event in Brooklyn. Here’s a photo on the bridge..it was a spectacular view as we were on a level above the car lane, just bikers and walkers on top of the world.

100_6459_1Rich took this photo of our hands – we could feel the cables moving!
