A quick note to share the latest news and upcoming events...I
hope you are staying cool and enjoying your summer!

Art On Location with a Major Motion Picture! |
 |
Just when I didn't think I could squeeze any more into my
schedule - a very interesting opportunity arises... Later this
month my art will be filmed in a booth as part of a mock Art
Fair scene in Universal Picture's filming of the movie "The
Break Up" starring Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn. I
will also be on hand in my booth as an Extra in the Movie. Can't
guarantee if I, or my art will make the final cut, but it could
happen!

Art Fairs this Month - Gold Coast This Weekend |
 |
I have a busy month ahead starting with the Gold Coast Art
Fair this weekend, August 5-6-7. You will find me at Booth #412
on the South Side of Huron between LaSalle & Wells Streets. Next
weekend I'll be downtown Glenview, IL, Booth #87. And lastly,
my favorite show of the summer: The Bucktown Arts Fest is August
27-28, My Booth #33. This is the first art fair I ever exhibited
in and 2005 marks my 10th year. It's also the 20th anniversary
for this unique and eclectic neighborhood show!

| Stuffed
Animal Prototypes of Alice & Izzy at the International Licensing
Show in New York |
 |
I created stuffed animal prototypes of Alice and Izzy for
my June 2005 exhibition at the Licensing Show in New York. I
drew silhouettes on primed canvas then cut them out and sewed
them by hand; stuffed them with batting with the help of a chop
stick and then painted them with acrylics. They were a lot of
fun to make and people loved them. The show was very exciting,
I had interest from companies all over the world and have a few
contracts already in negotiation. Stay tuned for more licensing
updates...

Visits ACC's Bow WoW Beach Bash! |

Alice joined the fun on June 25th at Doggy Beach for the Annual
Bow Wow Beach Bash. Here we are with the Art Work I designed
for Chicago Animal Care &
Control. We discovered she is not a big fan of water.

| If
Dogs Were Teachers... |
 |
"If
dogs were teachers, we would learn things like: When loved ones
come home, always run to greet them. Never pass up the opportunity
to go for a joyride. Allow the experience of fresh air and the
wind in your face to be pure ecstasy. When it's in your best
interest, practice obedience. Let others know when they've invaded
your territory. Take naps. Stretch before rising. Run, romp,
and play daily. Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do. On warm days, stop
to lie on your back on the grass. On hot days, drink lots of
water and lie under a shady tree. When you're happy, dance around
and wag your entire body. No matter how often you're scolded,
don't buy into the guilt thing and pout...run right back and
make friends. Delight in the simple joy of a long walk. Eat with
gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you have had enough. Be loyal.
Never pretend to be something you're not. If what you want lies
buried, dig until you find it. When someone is having a bad day,
be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently." . . . .
I received this sweet little essay via an email passed on from
my mother-in-law. Thanks Ruth!
