I hope you are enjoying this beautiful
summer. Mine has been magical thanks to the
Fields Project Artist Residency in rural
Oregon, Illinois. You can read a little here
and a lot on my Flickr
page where I have put together a bit of a
photo journal detailing the week. People have
jokingly called me "Anne LUCK
Feldhaus" - that's who I feel like!
Lastly...don't forget to check out my friend
Stephanie's artful cakes!
| Magnificent Mile Show this Weekend: July 13-15 |
 |
|
Come out to the Magnificent
Mile Art Festival this Friday,
Saturday & Sunday July 13-15. You can find me
in Booth #59. This national
juried show
is downtown at Pioneer Court (Michigan Avenue
between the
Tribune Tower and the Equitable
Building). Some Anne Leuck Feldhaus
trivia for
you: I worked at Smith Bucklin on the 23rd
floor of the Equitable
Building for 6 years in the 90's as a
convention & meeting planner (prior to leading
the charmed life of a working artist!).

Visit my updated Landscape
Paintings page to see 11 new works
created at the Fields Project
artist residency last
month (after we finished the field
sculpture). I drove all over Ogle
County taking photos and sketching, then made
paintings in my wonderful outdoor studio at
Castle Rock State Park. There was
an art fair at the end of the week for all
the artists to
showcase their work. Visit
my on-line photo journal detailing this
magical week. You
can get another perspective by checking out
the excellent journal created by my good pal
Laura
Nugent.

| Bird House Art for Chicago House Benefit |
 |
|
"Flying Home" was the title of my donation
for the Annual Chicago
House Benefit Gala & Auction held at the
Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago on June
28th. Chicago
House provides permanent, community-based
housing, supportive services and basic life
skills to individuals, families and children
struggling with HIV and AIDS.
I look forward to creating a special piece
for this event every year...see
my collection.

| New Representation: Dogs-Gallery in Germany |
 |
|
The new "Dogs-Gallery"
opened by Henning von
Harling, in Essen, now exclusively
takes pet portrait commissions for me in
Germany. This Gallery is not to be
confused with the "The Dogs
Gallery" in California.

| Artists & Friends - Stehpanie Samuels |
 |
|
My good friend Stephanie Samuels creates the
most beautiful cakes you've ever seen. They
are zany and delicious as are all her
offerings at Angel Food
Bakery at 1636 W. Montrose here in
Chicago. She has been featured on several
Food Network shows such as Recipe For
Success
and Sugar Rush...her signature "Air
Stream"
is her personal take on the Hostess Twinkie.
If you live in Chicago ... go have lunch! and
if you don't, visit her website
and watch this

11 Acres of Art for Pet Adoption Awareness |
|
|
|
My field sculpture: "Flower Frolicking
Canine" was created to spread awareness about
animal adoption. I never
dreamed I would make art on this
scale but it has happened with a lot of hard
work and help from the Fields
Project
Committee, farmers and other volunteers in
rural Oregon, IL. We
accomplished this with the help of a GPS, a
gazillion colored flags, a vintage 1970's
tractor, Kool Aid and chocolate chip cookies!
not to mention...no blood, but a lot of
sweat, and a few tears. Read
all about it and see the photo journal I
created detailing this project.
